The Nigeria government has announced that it will build ranches and establish grazing reserves for Fulani herdsmen using taxpayers' money, even though Fulani herdsmen are private business men who should be made to build their own ranches and buy their own land for grazing.
DailyPost Nigeria reports: "The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Engr. Babachir David Lawal has stated that the Federal Government will soon establish ranches and grazing reserves for herdsmen across the country...A statement by the Director of Press in the office of the SGF, Bolaji Adebiyi quoted Lawal as saying that the attacks on farmers across the country was the handwork of foreign herdsmen. Majority of Nigerians though in support of building modern ranches (not with taxpayers' money), are not in favor of forcing states to provide grazing reserves for Fulani herdsmen across the country. Under the present administration of former dictator and current President, Rtd. General Muhammadu Buhari, the idea that Fulani herdsmen whom they also claim are mostly foreign to Nigeria have a right to be sponsored by Buhari's government using taxpayers' money which the herdsmen never contributed to is absurd. In addition, Nigerians believe that this ridiculous notion is fueled by Buhari's secret agenda with northern Nigeria oligarchs to "Islamize" Nigeria, and that the Fulani herdsmen are merely being used as a tool.
Buhari appears to be adamant to achieve his agenda regardless of the reality of the so-called democracy that he is required to operate under in Nigeria. Based on his actions since he assumed the office of President of Nigeria, Buhari has continued to demonstrate his dictatorial beliefs from 30 years+ back when he successfully stage a Coup d'état and became a military dictator. His ideology as a military dictator appears to be unchanged.
Ironically, recently, US President Barack Obama gave Buhari a fairly good report card despite lack of evidence of good leadership in Nigeria. Read previous SitiTalkBlog Post:
