Ten year old Victor helps his mother on Saturdays to sell a unique recipe of Zobo drink by the road side in Abuja, Nigeria. Victor explains what makes his mother's Zobo unique and better than others. His mother uses fresh fruits to sweeten her Zobo mix rather than processed sugar, because excessive sugar intake can cause diabetes, he explains. Victor stated that he goes to school during the week (when school is in session) and helps his mother to sell her Zobo drink on Saturdays.

What is Zobo?

Child Labor in Nigeria: While it is disheartening to see a young child like Victor selling Zobo drink on the streets of Abuja, when he should be engaged in other learning activities (even when school is on break); we see Victor as young, resilient, and hard working (at his tender age) and who is bound to succeed with a little extra help. It is pertinent to state that while Nigerian politicians continue to enrich themselves, young Nigerian children like Victor are hustling on the streets just to help their families make ends meet.

If you wish to assist with Victor's school fees and possibly assist his mother to expand her business, you may contact Gloria's Foundation for Health Education (GFHE) via SitiTalkBlog.
