The Gates of Hell Shall Not Prevail Against the Church

For Christians all over of the world who are disheartened by ongoing persecution of fellow believers all over the world, Matthew 16:17-19 should be a reminder to us all that the gates of hell shall not prevail against the church. In the final analysis, the church of Jesus Christ shall prevail.
For those of you in developing nations, including in some countries like Nigeria where Christians are being persecuted daily through diverse means, rest assured that the gates of hell shall not prevail against the church.
Matthew 16:17-19 17 And Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah! Forflesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven. 18 And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock[a] I will build my church, and the gates of hell[b] shall not prevail against it. 19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed[c] in heaven.” (English Standard Version (ESV): source: www.biblegateway.com
