SitiTalkBlog congratulates Dr. Yetunde Folajimi, also a SitiTalk showcased “Wining Woman” on her excellent initiative of “Nigeria Geek Girls Collaborative Camp”.
The Nigerian Geek Girls Collaborative Camp is run by Dr. Yetunde Folajimi in the Department of Computer Science, University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria. It is a one-week Information and Communications Technology (ICT) mentoring camp training. The primary objective is to mentor and improve the ICT skills of Nigerian Secondary (High) School girls, female undergraduates and female teachers in ICT and their involvement in ICT-related or supported disciplines or projects. This is an early mentorship that is focused on grooming the girls both professionally and as “technical geeks” (ICT technical experts) in various disciplines. Also, a secondary objective of the training is geared towards boosting the confidence of the girls in participating in ICT by enabling them to create their own personal ICT projects after undergoing hands-on ICT training.

The ICT camp training run by Dr. Yetunde Folajimi is sponsored by support from partners and sponsors and offered completely free to all participants. For more information on upcoming ICT camp training visit: http://www.computergeeky.org.
