What makes a non-profit organization successful? Is it the passion to help humanity in a specific area or the fact that a non-profit organization may be known all over the world? What about non-profits that are yet unrecognized but are touching lives, one at a time, in the most remote parts of the world.

Introducing Gloria's Foundation for Health Education (GFHE).

GFHE is non-profit organization registered in Nigeria since 2005. GFHE, run by Ms. Nonye C. lgwegbe, is focused on providing much needed help to the less privileged. GFHE organizes health education programs, medical missions, food distribution, and offers scholarship awards to less privileged children under the Samaritan Persons Education Award (SPEF).

Videos below show Nonye visiting a community in the outskirts of the Nigeria Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, where some of the beneficiaries of the GFHE-SPEF Education Award reside. Under the GFHE-SPEF Education Award program, more children, especially girls, continue to be awarded scholarships to ensure that they can attend school instead of hawking groundnut on the streets of their neighborhoods or in Abuja, Nigeria. Also, Nonye is shown handing out certificates to the children who benefited from The SPEF program.

Also, Nonye is passionate about ensuring the conduct of free and fair elections in African countries, especially in Nigeria. ln 2011 GFHE was accredited as an election observer by the lndependent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Nigeria.

Ms. Nonye C. lgwegbe, a London-UK Montessori-trained teacher, is the founder of GFHE. Nonye’s passion for GFHE was borne out of the pain of losing her cherished beautiful teenage family member named “Gloria” in the 90s. Previously, Nonye worked for United States Senator William B Owens Jr. of Boston Massachusetts under a Health Education and Learning Program (HELP) from 2002 to 2007 under the African Studies Department of the University of Massachusetts (UMASS).
