About Uché Aniagolu Producer/Director/Screenplay [Location: UK/ROI]

Uché Aniagolu has been involved in arts entertainment since 1989. She studied Performing Arts in Paris, France at both Cours René Simon (where she won a scholarship) and Ecole d’Art Dramatique Perimony. She also has a first degree in Mass Communication; specialising in Journalism and a Master of Science degree in Business Information Technology (BIT). Since completing her studies in Africa and Europe, Uché has been involved in many productions some of which include; An adaptation of Lorca's ‘Yerma’, Akogun (Dance/Drama adaptation of Macbeth), Horses of the Night (an adaptation of Christopher Marlowe’s Faustus), Agamemnon’s Children (an adaptation of Euripides’ Trilogy), L627 (feature film) by Bertrand Tavernier, Sarafina (feature film/French version), The Secrets Of The Makaleng (Theatrical film drama by Adzido for the Queen Elizabeth Hall, South Bank, London), Dido & Aeneas (Film Opera for BBC2 TV), Crime Limited (TV Series for BBC TV London), Loving Companions (winner British Short Film Festival 1997) amongst others. Since 2006, Uché Aniagolu’s involvement in the industry has moved from being in front to behind the camera. She studied at the College of North-east London (CONEL) as part of “Women Making Waves” an EU funded programme after, which she did an internship/on the job training with BBC London News. She has since made a ‘Teaser’ of the Book “Mikela; The Memoirs of a Maasai Woman” by Jacyee Aniagolu-Johnson about Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and Rape.
Uché wrote the first draft Screenplay of 'Mikela'; a screen adaptation of the book 'Mikela, The Memoirs of a Maasai Woman' by Jaycee Aniagolu-Johnson and also produced and co-directed ‘Mikela’ as a stage production for the Cockpit Theatre, London in 2003. More recently, Uché completed the Pilot on a TV Series ‘SitiTalk At The Village Garden’.
